OCG’s has always been an organizational
development firm. We learned early on that there are
several characteristics of a highly functioning organization. With that
realization we created several proprietary tools and strategies to assist
our clients in developing those characteristics.
Conducting a situation analysis, creating a strategy and
facilitating implementation form three-legged stool of the development
process. Without any of one of the three legs the process will have limited
success.
In its work with DMOs, OCG quickly realized a different model
was necessary for the unique situations that DMOs operate within. The
success of the DMO and the destination are symbiotic and thus any development
strategy must consider the destination as a whole. All dimensions of a
destination must be aligned and functioning on a high level for success
to be enjoyed. OCG analyses each dimension and crafts a strategy that
addresses the role and responsibility in each dimension for the DMO and
the community.
The puzzle pieces must fit…..
Product Development
Developing and maintaining accommodations, facilities, attractions and
infrastructure that are consistent with the marketing image and that meet
the needs of the visitor.
Marketing
Establishing a clear image and ensuring the resources needed to promote
that image effectively to all appropriate markets.
Visitor Experience
Ensuring visitor satisfaction through a coordinated effort to provide
experiences that consistently meet visitors' expectations.
Industry/Community Relationships
Building productive relationships throughout the industry and the community
that recognize the interdependence of all entities and that support their
mutual objectives.
